Friday Freebies: Be Healthier this Fall with Natural Remedies Ebooks

This weekend is the official start of Fall.  As majority enjoy the gorgeous changes of the leaves and cooler temperature,  many, including our household are now suffering from seasonal allergies.   Ragweed, pollen, dust mites are some of best enemies.  What's yours?

Though we have prescriptions on hand, I am always in a look out for natural ways to alleviate the symptoms of runny nose, headache, sneezing and so on.  As along as there are no bad side effects, (which most medicines have anyway), I am more willing to try anything.

For those who are interested in trying natural remedies, check out these freebies I found today.  From simple headaches, to sneezing and even asthma, there are so many recipes you can try.  Personally,  I think these are handy to have since we all have a long and challenging fall- winter seasons ahead.

Giveaway: 2 Tickets for the Gluten Free Allergen Free Expo in New Jersey

Time really flies so fast.  I can't believe it is almost a year since our family started converting our home to an allergy friendly one.  That meant we successfully lived without wheat/gluten, dairy, soy, egg, peanuts and nuts in our diet.  Okay, I confess, I did cheat a few times but in general, our family did quite well.

The past 12 months has been a real roller coaster ride.  From finding which products are safe for the kids to cooking and baking tasty food that the whole family will actually eat, dealing with food allergies is really a never ending adventure.  If only there is a store that is completely food allergy friendly, everything will be a lot easier.

Earlier last month, I think my prayers were answered.  I learned that the Gluten Free and Allergen Free Expo will be heading to New Jersey this September.  With a twist of faith, I became an official blogger for the event as well.

With more than 150 vendors in one venue, it is definitely a food allergy mom's dream come true.  Aside from being able to talk to companies directly, there will be product sampling and coupons to be handed out.  Oh did I mention that one of the sponsors, Holy Crap Cereal is also hosting a giveaway for the attendees?   Plus there are free informative classes available. Can you feel my excitement?

Now, I got something even better for all of you.  The wonderful people of GFAF Expo has provided me TWO (2) adult admission tickets to giveaway.  That means 2 of my lucky readers will be able to go to the event for FREE and experience first hand what I am talking about.

What are you waiting for?  Enter now and share it to your friends and family.  Who knows? Maybe we could hang out there too.

              Happy September!

Get Free Epinephine with a $0 Co Pay Card

A few more weeks and my gang will be back to school.  Are yours still home too?  Whether the kids are already in school or not yet, I'm pretty sure us parents are feeling the crunch of back to school shopping.

For those with food allergies, part of the arsenal is the emergency Epinephine injectors. Did you know that you have to get a new one every year?  Yes, this medication has an expiration date.

As I prepare to get a prescription refill, I learned online that the manufacturers of both Epipen and Auvi-Q are giving some big discounts to their customers. Each has their own $0 Co Pay Cards which can be downloaded in their websites.

To make sure that this promotion works, I tried it last Sunday.  I called my pharmacy ahead of time for a refill.  When I picked it up, I showed the $0 Co Pay card that I printed out to the pharmacist.  I think it was the first time she saw such request so I was asked to wait for a few minutes.  After about 3 minutes of validating the card, she changed the enclosed receipt, let me sign the acknowledgement and gave back my card.

I don't know about you but my co pay should have been $30 for each 2 dosage pack. It was definitely a nice discount.  It doesn't stop there.  The promo which is valid until the end of the year, allows each card holder up to 4 packs of Epi-pens or 3 packs of Auvi-Q per prescription.  Isn't that sweet?

Just take note that  there are a few restrictions on the Promo such as:
          1. Promo is not available for Medicare, Medicaid or similar state or federal programs including state medical pharmaceutical assistance program.
          2. One card per patient or prescription.
          3. $100 maximum discount per pack.

So, what are you waiting for? Get your $0 Co Pay cards now by going to www.Epipen.com or www.auviq.com. Don't forget to share the love too.

Firmoo Sunglasses Review and Discount

Okay Frugalista Moms, I have exciting news! Last month, I was contacted by Firmoo.com  to test and review their eyeglasses.  Though I am not new to writing reviews, (I used to review items on my other blog) I was so delighted because I will get to pick what type of eyeglasses to receive and I can even turn it to sunglasses. With the summer arriving soon, I sure am in need of some fun eye wear.

When I checked their website, I was surprised by the good number of selections and designs they offer.  One can find glasses from prescription to fashion, metal to plastic, goggles to designer frames and countless shapes.  The best part is that the items are very affordably priced below $70.  Who can go wrong with $30 frames?

Since I just bought a new pair of prescription glasses from an optical shop, (Duh!  I could have saved big bucks), I decided to be a little creative.  I chose a big unisex frame, got non prescription lenses and have it tinted.  Instant sunglasses! Oh did you know that you could virtually try the glasses too?  Simply upload a picture and you will have an idea how the frames will look on you.  Isn't that cool?

When my new glasses arrived in the mail, I was surprised that a hard case, cleaning cloth, tiny screw driver and a soft drawstring bag were also included. With that kind of careful and thoughtful packaging, I felt that I was getting something really special.  Intentionally, I picked one of the biggest frames and paired it with the darkest tint.  Boy! I'm glad I made that choice! The sunglasses turned out really nice. It looked well made and quite sturdy.  Only negative thing I can say is that the temple length is a bit longer than I expected.  With that in consideration, I am still happy because it didn't affect the fit and yes, the sunglasses are very comfortable.

Getting jealous already?  Don't be.  The people in Firmoo are very generous and will give all of you free yes, I said FREE pair  of eyeglasses.    You get to pick what frames you like at that page and all you have to do is use the coupon code FIRMOOFREE at checkout and pay for the shipping which is quite reasonable.  If you are outside the US, you can still get the offer. Just check whether your location is included in this list of countries.

What are you waiting for?  Grab your freebie now!

Check out my Spring look.  Those big fashionable glasses instantly hid my red, itchy, irritated, pollen sensitive eyes.  :)

P.S. I got the free glasses in exchange for this review.  This however, hasn't affect my honest opinion and experience using the product.

Friday Freebie Finds - Gluten Free, Paleo Ebooks and more

Hello Frugalista Moms!  This weird Jersey weather is just driving me crazy.  It's officially the third day of Spring yet our temperature here is still below freezing.  The wind isn't a big help either.  On top of that, my allergies are kicking it --- sneezing, watery eyes, runny nose.  You know the drill.

Since I'm taking a break from cooking today, I decided to look around the web for interesting ebooks to read.  Oh did I mention that these are all FREE today too? Just download, read and decide whether you like to keep them or simply delete.

I know you are all excited so I will not take long.  Plus I can feel the zyrtec is taking effect now.  Hope you all have a happy weekend!
